Our State Champions Are Crowned

Congratulations to all teams that attended the GHSA State Cheerleading Championships!  As the message boards are all fired up due to the contraversey of whom we all feel should have won any division of the competition, please remember that our champions have been chosen!!  Congratulate those champions, and give each of them the honor they have earned!!!

Southwest Regional Championship Evacuated Due To Gas Leak

As the Southwest Regional Championship concluded, authorities evacuated The Columbus State University Gymnasium due to a reported gas leak.  There was a distinct odor within the building that posed a sevear danger to the spectators of the championship competition, yet when instructed to exit the building so many coaches & participants that wanted to take photos or even contest their placement were heitant to leave.  The emergency message was finaly conveyed, and everyone evacuateed without incident. 

The Gymnasium remained closed for several hours leaving the vendors of the event waiting outside to reclaim their belongings.  They all were able to reenter later and all catastrophies were avoided!!

The Best Georgia Cheerleading Teams Not Going To The State Championships

There are some truely amazing teams that are ot going to the state championships due to problems with the tournambent methods that overlook the unique characteristics of the sport of cheerleading.

The first is an incredible team that would have been top 10 for sure at the championship.  A true indication there is a weakness in our system that determines who is deserving to attend the state championship.  They deserve to attend!!!

The next is from the 3 AAAA.  Another team that would have clearly made it thourgh the sectional process to attend the finals, but never had that opportunity while there were regions that didn't even fill their possitions.
